The pilot hectare of flower meadow, was sowed in April 2021 at the Stanisławie junction.
The Łąka project is implemented in cooperation with the Łąka Foundation, which has been promoting and establishing flower meadows for years. On the test plot on SPO Stanisławie, it grows precisely selected mixtures of seeds of 38 types of plants, m.in cornflowers, sage, clover, chicory, Santa Claus, carrots, poppy seeds, nostril and primrose. About 100,000 plants with 6 million individual flowers grew in the meadow at the peak of summer, feeding potentially 160,000 bees and other pollinators.
In 2023, 3 ha of flower meadows were already blooming along the A1 AmberOne Motorway.
The construction and maintenance of motorways are needed to facilitate transport. However, they take up a lot of space, cross important natural areas and require constant expenditure on the maintenance of greenery. Sustainability issues are close to our heart and are a natural part of our business. That is why we have a modern and pro-ecological approach to green areas.
Our flower helps to reduce the noise level of vehicle noise, and the plant mixture used has air-purifying properties. The hectare meadow under favorable conditions binds up to 10 tonnes of CO2 per year and absorbs up to 120 kg of PM 2.5 dust.
