Eco-driving is a new way of thinking, strongly related to the ability to anticipate and plan while driving. This trend arose from the need to stop climate change and is in line with EU directives on the reduction of pollutant emissions into the environment. Ecodriving since 1 January 2015 is a mandatory element assessed in Poland during the driving test.

Eco-driving means conscious driving, at the same time economic and ecological, because by driving economically we reduce exhaust emissions into the atmosphere. It is worth noting that the words ecology and economy contain the same prefix eco (from the Greek oíkos) which means exactly the same thing: a common home.
By adhering to the basic principles of eco-driving, we can gain measurable benefits, both for the wealth of our wallet and for the state of the natural environment. Doubly worth it.
- RULE – “foot off the gas” especially on the road, because less by 10 or 20 km / h significantly reduces fuel consumption, and increases comfort and safety
- RULE – anticipate the next maneuvers and try to drive smoothly, avoiding the so-called torn driving, i.e. sudden braking and acceleration
- RULE – drive in the highest possible gear, maintaining optimal engine speed
- RULE – brake with the engine, with the manual gearbox by reducing gears at deceleration, and in the automatic geared cars taking your foot off the gas so that the transmission switches to lower and lower gear.
- RULE – use navigation to avoid traffic jams and save travel time and thus fuel
- RULE – do not warm up the engine at a standstill, start it just before starting – a cold engine consumes more fuel, and when driving it heats up faster (during frost it will wait 1-2 minutes to start)
- RULE – accelerate dynamically, but without “pedal to the metal”, because it increases combustion, and there is no difference in acceleration between depressed gas pedal in 3/4 and 4/4
- RULE – consciously use air conditioning when necessary to evaporate the windows, but in hot weather ventilate the interior before turning it on
- RULE – avoid driving with unnecessary luggage or an empty roof rack and bicycle carrier, because the additional load / air resistance means increased fuel consumption
