Action-education AmberOne A1 Motorway: ECO-DRIVING that is ecologically and economically

Driving 300 km of a section of the motorway at a speed of 140 km / h is as much as 67 kg of CO2 in the case of a medium-sized passenger car! To neutralize such carbon dioxide emissions, 4 trees need to work annually.

It is really worth thinking about changing the driving style. Especially since this change is very simple. “Foot off the gas” by 20 km / h or even by 10 km / h brings many measurable benefits, both for our wallet and for nature.

“The goal is to reduce the carbon footprint of our motorway project. Not only investments in ecological solutions, such as LED lighting or successfully implemented flower motorway meadows, but also economical and ecological driving of all of us is required. By reducing the speed to 120 km/h, we reduce CO2 emissions by as much as 8%. In addition, the lower speed allows you to travel safer while saving money. So, despite the little longer time spent on the road, in reality slower driving will bring many benefits. ” – says Torbjörn Nohrstedt, President of the Management Board.

A practical tool prepared for Travelers is the CO₂ emission calculator available in the AmberOne application. The calculator allows you to look at two possibilities in a transparent way: reducing fuel costs and reducing the production of exhaust gases, thanks to the use of one of the principles of eco-driving, popularly known as “foot off the gas”.

The exhaust emission calculator is the main element of the new motorway campaign, confronting us with the scale of pollutants produced. Travel is an inseparable part of everyday life, and the motorway is the safest place to travel by car – but the state of our climate is our common responsibility, so it is worth learning and using every available way to reduce CO2 emissions. In addition to “foot off the gas”, the campaign will also promote other effective eco-driving rules – it is worth looking at the Facebook profile/ AmberOneAutostradaA1 and the AmberOne A1 Motorway website.
