A cycle of teaching classes “How animals wanted to cross the road”

Gdańsk Transport Company joined forces with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Gdańsk and held a cycle of teaching classes for primary school children, grades one to three, in the Pomeranian voivodship.  The classes were devoted to the animal passes on express roads and motorways.  The class on ‘How animals wanted to cross the road’ gave the pupils an opportunity to produce their own animal passes and take them on a visit at selected animal passes.  The goal of the classes was to educate the youngest about the animal passes and the rules valid at such locations.  To back up the syllabus, a book was produced: ‘Ambrose on animal tracks’ addressed at the youngest, discussing the animal passes on the A1 AmberOne Motorway.  In addition, the pupils participating in the classes took part in an art competition where the main prize was a multimedia board designated for the school the winning work represented.  The classes were held at 8 schools.  The children received the classes with immense engagement, which bore the fruit of numerous works entered for the art competition.  The received works will be used to create a calendar presenting animal passes seen through children’s eyes.  The classes were also appreciated by the teachers who valued the quality of the tutorship, the engagement, and the knowledge of the subject matter among the tutors. The classes will be continued in the following years.
